As generally obnoxious as Joel Zimmerman is, I give him & his audio team credit for his popularity and well produced dance music.
But I am confused by this interview. I know I have read & heard several different interviews with Mr Mau5 where he would talk about his "partner," the one who knows all the technical stuff with recording techniques and more and would school Mr Mau5 in studio technique, (his words, not mine.)
Now either, Deadmau5 is no longer partnered with that guy (who's name escapes me, but he was with Mr Mau5 from his humble beginnings,) OR, Mr Mau5 is doing it all by himself... Or, we should ignore the man behind the curtain and just keep watching Mr Mau5 with that Micky-Mau5 helmet on his head...
Either way, I don't know if I buy that this kid is as smart & gifted as he puts on. I think he gets help from talented people just as many established Electronic Musicians do. The mark of a true Egotist is the one who doesn't admit to getting any help and who thinks only he can get the job done.
Just my 2¢.

We've used this process in many of our recordings with great effect.

Some of the points made by readers on this page are valid. Most importantly, the room has the biggest effect on a drum sound but only if the drums are well tuned.

Free blues guitar lessons are great to get your juices flowing but, if you really want to learn how to play blues guitar, my advice is to go to your local bookstore or look on line for a course that starts with the basics. You just have to start at the beginning if you want to sound like the great blues players.

What a great article, I read all of it then i am satisfied to say that It’s a terse idiom, and if you’re concerned about the performance you must not have a database or anything else that consumes resources orders of magnitude greater. Consider yourself lucky, otherwise don’t optimize at this level unless you really need to. Keep blogging.

There's no such thing as an "open inversion", nor a closed inversion. You're probably talking about open and closed voicings - open meaning the bass and soprano are more than an octave apart.

And there are parallel perfect fifths in the cello part of your arrangement - are you sure you studied classical voice leading?

I am interested in making my own beats and house(maybe dubstep) stuff. As of now I have a Macbook pro, studio condenser mic, some legit KRK headphones, all monitors set up, M audio Axiom 25, and Logic 8 to start me off. I will be willing to invest in more gear once I have a firm grasp of what I want to and know how to use.
